[2024] PUBLIC HEALTH SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE: ACHIEVEMENTS AND CHALLENGES

On May 31, 2024, Danang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy successfully hosted the Public Health Scientific Conference: Achievements and Challenges in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Faculty of Public Health (June 5, 2014 – June 5, 2024).

 

The conference brought together distinguished leaders, scientists, lecturers, and colleagues from 20 universities, research institutes, and medical facilities across the country.

From the host institution, the event was honored by the presence of Dr. Hoang Huu Khoi – Vice Rector, along with leaders from various departments, units, the university’s trade union, and youth union. Also in attendance were former leaders and faculty members of the Faculty of Public Health and nearly 150 students and trainees.

The organizing committee received nearly 100 abstracts, of which 61 were selected for presentation from institutions such as Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hanoi Medical University, Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and others. Participants also included representatives from hospitals and health centers nationwide, as well as NGOs like the Center for Adaptive Capacity Building Research and KFHI Vietnam.

 

The conference featured four main sessions: a plenary session with five keynote speeches, two parallel sessions with 18 oral presentations, and one poster session showcasing 38 studies. After a day of active engagement and academic exchange, the scientific board awarded 3 First Prizes, 6 Second Prizes, 9 Third Prizes, and 10 Consolation Prizes to outstanding presenters.

 

During the closing ceremony, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, Ms. Tran Thi Diep Ha extended heartfelt thanks to all delegates and guests. She affirmed that the conference not only commemorated the Faculty’s decade-long journey but also provided a valuable platform for researchers to connect, exchange knowledge, and celebrate the impactful contributions of public health in advancing community well-being.
