In 2024: Working with the delegation from the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, Thailand.
On April 2nd, 2024, the Faculty of Public Health warmly welcomed and collaborated with a delegation from the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, Thailand, to discuss training, scientific research, and faculty and student exchanges in the upcoming period.
The working session was attended by Assoc. Prof. Phitaya Charupoonphol and MPH. Hoang Nguyen Nhat Linh, representing their respective units, along with faculty members from the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, and the Faculty of Public Health, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy.
During the working session, the two units exchanged experiences on organizing university and postgraduate teaching, scientific research, international cooperation, and faculty and student exchange programs.
At the end of the working session, the representatives from the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University expressed their desire to continue working and collaborating on upcoming projects; to expand opportunities for international master's and doctoral programs in various fields of public health such as Epidemiology, Global Health, Behavioral Science, Health Education, and Reproductive Health. Particularly, they emphasized the Doctoral of Public Health program specializing in Family Health and Reproductive Health. They also proposed faculty and student exchanges for short-term or long-term programs between the two institutions.
In 2023: SEMINAR ON SHARING EXPERIENCE IN HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT WITH KOSIN UNIVERSITY, SOUTH KOREA.
On October 6th, 2023, DUMTP collaborated with a project team from Kosin University, South Korea, to organize a workshop on "Sharing Experience in Health Information Management."
The seminar was attended by the university's leadership, faculty members from the Public Health Faculty, project team members, representatives from the Da Nang Department of Health, and over 30 delegates from healthcare facilities across Da Nang City.
Two presentations were delivered: one by Professor Bae Sungwon from Kosin University on "Trends in Modern Healthcare and Healthcare Information Management in South Korea," and another by MS. Pham Thai Hoang from the Da Nang Department of Health on "The Application of Information Technology and Digital Transformation in the Healthcare Sector of Da Nang City." These presentations provided an overview of the current status of health information management in South Korea and Da Nang City.
Two panel discussions were held concurrently on the current status and the need for health information management. Delegates from healthcare facilities shared their experiences and insights. The discussions highlighted the necessity for workforce development in health information management.
In her remarks, PhD. MD. Le Thi Thuy emphasized the importance of health information management, stating that "The use of technology in health information management plays a crucial role in the operation and management of hospitals and healthcare facilities, ensuring safe and effective operations. In addition to investing in systems, human resources in information management play a vital role as connectors, possessing knowledge in both clinical and non-clinical aspects of healthcare facilities to harmoniously operate and serve common activities."
In conclusion, Professor Cho Kyoung Won, representing Kosin University, expressed gratitude for the contributions of the participants in the two panel discussions and appreciated the warm hospitality of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy.
The workshop provided practical insights into health information management at healthcare facilities across Da Nang City.
