Vietnam – Korea Cross-Cultural Learning Journey: One Program – Multiple Experiences.
05-07-2025

From July 1 to July 4, 2025, the University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, Danang (DUMTP) and Kosin University (Korea) successfully co-organized a series of cultural and academic exchange activities, highlighted by fresh and meaningful experiences.

Beyond knowledge-sharing sessions and cultural showcases, this year’s program stood out with hands-on community healthcare activities and the spirit of “learning and doing together” between students from both countries.

From Classroom to Reality: Exploring Vietnam’s Healthcare System from Multiple Angles

The journey began on the afternoon of July 1, 2025, when Korean students attended an academic seminar on Vietnam’s healthcare system delivered by Dr. Tran Minh Huan, lecturer at the Faculty of Public Health.

Rather than remaining in theory, the session became an interactive dialogue, where students from both universities engaged in analysis, comparison of healthcare models, policy discussion, and raised critical questions about the systemic differences between the two nations.

On the morning of July 2, 2025, the learning continued at three major hospitals in Danang: C Hospital, the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, and the Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital.

Here, students directly observed patient care processes and healthcare operations in Vietnam’s public hospital system, thereby gaining practical insights into professional medical practices within a different healthcare context.

A Cultural Fusion at DUMTP

On the afternoon of July 3, 2025, DUMTP’s campus came alive with the vibrant and culturally rich “Vietnam – Korea Cultural Exchange Day”.

From traditional dances and costume showcases to food booths and folk games, each activity served as a cultural bridge, allowing students not only to enjoy themselves but also to appreciate diversity and enhance their global perspective.

Tien Sa Kindergarten – Spreading Community Spirit and Volunteerism

The morning of July 4, 2025, marked a meaningful highlight with the event “Health Festival – Spreading Love to the Future Generation” held at Tien Sa Kindergarten.

This was not only a community service activity but also a valuable real-world lesson in local public health – where Korean and Vietnamese students worked side by side in delivering health education, teaching personal hygiene, promoting environmental protection, raising awareness on the harms of smoking, and helping children develop healthy habits.

The seamless collaboration between the two student groups brought not only joy and laughter to the children, but also gave the students a moment to reflect on their roles in society – as agents of knowledge, responsibility, and compassion in the healthcare field.

Closing One Journey – Opening New Connections

The closing ceremony and certificate presentation, held on the same afternoon, offered a moment to look back on a short but emotionally rich and experiential journey.

Sincere reflections, lingering glances, and warm hugs marked the end of this collaborative program, while also planting seeds of hope for deeper and more impactful international exchange initiatives in the future.

The collaborative series between the University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, Danang and Kosin University has not only built a bridge of knowledge and culture between students of both nations, but also contributed to realizing DUMTP’s strong commitment to the internationalization of education.

The university will continue to expand multilateral partnerships, foster an open and practical learning environment, and equip students with the skills and mindset needed to step confidently into the global stage.
