The Faculty of Public Health Organizes a Thematic Workshop Updating Knowledge on Implementation Research Design
19-05-2025

On August 8, 2023, the Faculty of Public Health – Danang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy organized a thematic workshop titled “Updating Knowledge on Implementation Research Design.” The program attracted the participation of 43 lecturers, graduate students, and research staff.

At the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Lê Thị Kim Ánh, an expert in public health, delivered an in-depth presentation on updated knowledge related to implementation and intervention research design. The presentation focused on three main topics:

  1. Overview and comparative analysis between implementation research and intervention research: definitions, objectives, applications, and practical examples.
  2. Key considerations in choosing an appropriate research design within the context of real-world implementation.
  3. Implementation strategies to optimize effectiveness and the practical value of research findings.

The discussion session was particularly lively, with a series of highly practical questions raised by participants. Some of the issues discussed and addressed on the spot included:

  • The integration of implementation research within intervention studies
  • Assessing the relevance of “context” and “culture” through literature reviews
  • Designing and measuring quantitative outcome indicators in implementation research
  • Presenting research designs that combine effectiveness evaluation and implementation process analysis in study protocols

Despite limited time, the workshop successfully addressed many key questions, opening up practical and applicable research directions for lecturers and students in the public health field.

This workshop marked the beginning of a series of training and professional seminar activities organized by the Faculty of Public Health for the 2023–2024 academic year, contributing to the enhancement of research capacity and scientific application in community health care.
