In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Faculty of Public Health (June 5, 2014 – June 5, 2024), on May 31, 2024, Danang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy successfully organized the Public Health Science Conference with the theme: “Achievements and Challenges.”

The conference brought together nearly 300 delegates, including scientists, lecturers, and health professionals from 20 institutions representing universities, research institutes, hospitals, and health organizations nationwide.

Representing the university, the event was attended by Dr. Hoàng Hữu Khôi, Vice Rector of the university, along with leaders from various departments, centers, unions, and youth organizations; former leaders and faculty members of the Faculty of Public Health; and nearly 150 students and trainees.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Khắc Minh, Vice Head of the Organizing Committee, affirmed:

“This conference is a valuable opportunity for scientists in the field of Public Health to connect, share achievements, challenges, and explore new development opportunities in the current context.”

At the event, MSc. Trần Thị Diệp Hà, Acting Head of the Faculty of Public Health, presented a report summarizing 10 years of development in the areas of training, scientific research, international collaboration, and community service.

The conference received nearly 100 paper submissions, of which 61 were selected from reputable institutions such as Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hanoi Medical University, Hanoi University of Public Health, Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Nha Trang Pasteur Institute, National Children’s Hospital, C Danang Hospital, along with various local health centers, hospitals, and non-governmental organizations such as the Center for Adaptive Capacity Building Research and KFHI Vietnam.

Presentations were delivered across four sessions, including:

• Plenary session with 5 keynote presentations
• Two satellite sessions featuring 18 oral presentations
• One poster session with 38 posters

After a day of focused and productive work, the Scientific Committee awarded:

• 3 First Prizes
• 6 Second Prizes
• 9 Third Prizes
• 10 Encouragement Prizes
  to outstanding presenters and research topics.

In her closing remarks, MSc. Trần Thị Diệp Hà expressed deep gratitude to the delegates, guests, and supporting organizations. She emphasized:

“This conference is not only a moment to reflect on the 10-year journey of the Faculty of Public Health but also an opportunity for scientists to connect, share experiences, and contribute to the sustainable development of the public health sector – a field that plays a key role in protecting and improving population health.”
