On the morning of November 6, 2025, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy solemnly held the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State of Thuringia, Federal Republic of Germany—marking an important milestone in the university’s strategy for international integration and advancing the quality of healthcare workforce training toward European standards.

The ceremony was attended by the Delegation of the State of Thuringia, including representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Labour and Family; the Thuringia Skilled Labour Recruitment Agency (ThAFF); the AWO Welfare Association; and the German Competence Institute GCA.

On the Vietnamese side, participants included the University’s Board of Rectors, heads of all academic and administrative units, representatives of Da Nang Department of Health, Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, and leaders from partner hospitals involved in training under Decree No. 111, including Da Nang C Hospital and Da Nang Oncology Hospital.

Expanding Healthcare Career Opportunities Aligned with European Standards

During the working session, the two sides agreed to implement a collaborative nursing training program based on German standards, aiming toward mutual recognition of qualifications and credits, as well as expanding internship and employment opportunities at healthcare institutions, nursing homes, and hospitals within Thuringia’s social welfare system.

This is a conversion program for recognizing nursing degrees in Germany, designed specifically for graduates of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy. Its purpose is to support learners in developing international careers, enhancing professional competencies, and working in European-standard healthcare environments.

Academic Collaboration, Research, and Faculty Exchange

Beyond nursing, the two parties also agreed to explore expanding cooperation into rehabilitation engineering and related fields, aiming to establish an annual network for faculty and student exchanges and joint scientific research. The signing of the MoU serves as a solid foundation for developing internationally aligned training programs, credit recognition mechanisms, and transferring advanced German healthcare–education models to Vietnam.

Toward Building International Training Standards in Central Vietnam

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Le Thi Thuy, Rector of the University, emphasized:
“The cooperation agreement with the State of Thuringia not only opens pathways for our students to study and work in Germany but also provides strong momentum for the University to continue standardizing its training programs in accordance with international requirements, thereby contributing to the development of a high-quality healthcare workforce for the Central–Central Highlands region and the entire country.”

The signing ceremony took place in a formal and collaborative atmosphere, reflecting the strong commitment of both parties to fostering educational cooperation, transferring training technologies, and developing a sustainable healthcare workforce aligned with European integration.
