The 2020–2025 term marks the conclusion of a journey defined by determination and a strong aspiration for advancement at Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy. Despite facing various intertwined challenges, the University’s Party Committee has reaffirmed its role as the political nucleus, providing comprehensive leadership and successfully fulfilling key strategic objectives, thereby laying a solid foundation for the new phase of innovation, modernization, and integration.

Building a Clean and Strong Party – Upholding Education Quality, Expanding Disciplines, and Elevating Institutional Standing

With Party building as its cornerstone, the Party Committee has promoted solidarity, democracy, discipline, and accountability throughout the University’s political system. Consisting of 13 subordinate party cells and 233 party members, the University Party Committee admitted 61 new members during the term, fulfilling 87.1% of its target — a testament to the growing influence and vitality of the Party organization in the higher education sector.

The thorough implementation of the Central Party’s Resolutions and Directive No. 05-CT/TW on studying and following the ideology, morality, and style of President Ho Chi Minh has deeply influenced all staff and Party members. The Party Committee also actively renewed leadership methods, strengthened inspection and supervision, and promoted exemplary leadership, resulting in a significant transformation in awareness and action within its ranks.

The final report of the 18th Party Congress emphasized: “Building a clean and strong Party is a decisive factor in the University’s development. The Party Committee remains grounded in reality, promotes democracy, and enhances the role of leadership.”

Adopting the student-centered approach, the University has comprehensively renewed its curricula, especially in key disciplines such as General Medicine. All training programs are revised and updated in accordance with professional competency standards and societal needs. The General Medicine program, in particular, has been redesigned with an integrated model aligned with modern regional and international educational trends.

Notably, during the term, the University launched and implemented six Specialist Level I programs, contributing to the development of a coherent training system and improving the professional capacity of healthcare personnel. This represents a crucial step in the University’s long-term strategy to develop a high-quality health workforce to meet society’s increasing demands.

In parallel, the University has expanded partnerships with hospitals, strengthened clinical training, and invested in state-of-the-art teaching infrastructure, all of which have substantially improved graduate outcomes. Accreditation has also been prioritized, with five training programs meeting national standards. The University has become an associate member of the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA), marking a significant milestone in regional educational integration.

Science and Technology, Entrepreneurship, International Cooperation, Infrastructure Development, and Community Service – Implemented in Sync

A prominent highlight of the term is the University’s remarkable progress in scientific research and international collaboration. The number of provincially and municipally funded research projects and scientific publications, both domestic and international, has steadily increased. University students proudly earned second prize at the 2023 National Student Startup Idea Contest, showcasing their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.

The University has actively expanded international relations, welcoming 88 international delegations, signing 18 memoranda of understanding, organizing 14 international conferences, and sending over 40 lecturers and staff abroad for professional exchanges and short-term training. Notably, the University has also hosted specialized training programs in rehabilitation and speech-language therapy with the participation of esteemed international experts.

Amid the nationwide push for higher education autonomy, the University Party Committee has closely directed transparent and law-abiding financial governance, ensuring compliance and avoiding violations. Infrastructure has been comprehensively and modernly upgraded: a new Pre-clinical Skills Simulation Training Center was completed; the campus grounds were renovated; a wastewater treatment system was installed; and a project to expand Campus No. 2 was launched.

Beyond its teaching mission, the University has actively fostered the image of humane and compassionate medical professionals through diverse community activities: voluntary blood donations, free medical examinations and treatment for residents in remote areas, participation in COVID-19 prevention and control efforts, and public health education campaigns. These efforts reflect the medical profession’s core values of compassion, social responsibility, and service.

A Convergence of Wisdom – Igniting Aspirations for Growth

The 2020–2025 term has been a pivotal period, marking the University’s organizational, academic, and reputational maturity. Not only were the term’s objectives accomplished, but the Party Committee also established a firm groundwork for the University’s development strategy toward 2030 and vision to 2045.

In an era of rapid digital transformation and international integration, the Party Committee has determined to: continue building a strong and disciplined Party organization; renew governance thinking; improve the quality of education, research, and community engagement; and harness digital technologies across all fields of operation.

“Solidarity – Discipline – Responsibility – Action” is the guiding motto that will carry the Party Committee of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy confidently into the new term — reaffirming the University’s mission to train high-quality human resources for the health sector and contribute to the well-being of the people.
