On the afternoon of September 13, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy held its Opening Ceremony & Freshmen Welcome Day for the 2025–2026 academic year. The event marked the start of a new journey for more than 1,200 freshmen, an important milestone in their student life at a university with over 62 years of experience in health sciences education.

Attending the ceremony were: Dr. Le Thi Thuy – Deputy Party Secretary and Rector; Dr. Dang Van Thoi – Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Minh Son – Party Committee Member and Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Minh – former Party Secretary and Rector, now Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Public Health. Also present were leaders of faculties, departments, lecturers, and a large number of students.

In her opening speech, Rector Dr. Le Thi Thuy told the freshmen:

“The field of Medicine and Pharmacy you have chosen is a noble profession, but it has never been easy. The path of study requires intelligence, compassion, perseverance, responsibility, and sharing. Your choice today shows your courage, your desire to contribute, and your great dream – to bring health, joy, and happiness to others.”

 Awards and Recognition

To acknowledge students’ achievements in the 2025 university entrance examination, the Rector presented Certificates of Merit to:

The valedictorian and salutatorian of the university,

Eight program valedictorians in different majors.

The university also honored outstanding classes and individual students from previous cohorts for excellent results in study and research during the 2024–2025 academic year. In addition, leaders of faculties presented white medical coats to the freshmen, symbolizing the start of their path to becoming future healthcare professionals.

 Student Activities

After the formal ceremony, welcome activities organized by the Youth Union and Student Association took place. Performances by student clubs – music, martial arts, guitar, semaphore – created a lively and youthful atmosphere.

Fun activities such as treasure hunts, puzzle-solving games, and mini-games brought excitement and helped strengthen connections among students.

With enthusiasm and determination, the 2025 Opening Ceremony & Freshmen Welcome Day was not only a warm welcome for new students but also an inspiring beginning, giving them motivation for study, training, and achieving their dreams.
