24-09-2025

On the morning of September 23, 2025, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy (DUMTP) warmly welcomed a delegation of professors from Chang Gung University (CGU), Taiwan. The meeting took place in an open and friendly atmosphere, marking an important step forward in academic and research collaboration between the two universities.

Representing DUMTP were Dr. Cao Bich Thuy, Head of the Office of Science, Technology and International Cooperation; Dr. Ho Xuan Tuan, Head of the Department of Medical Imaging; and MSc. Pham Minh Tan, Vice Head of the Faculty of Rehabilitation, along with other faculty members. From CGU, the delegation included leading professors such as Prof. Ching-Yi Wu, Associate Dean of the College of Medicine and Director of Healthy Aging Research Center and Professor in Department of Occupational Therapy and Behavioral Science; Prof. Tsung-Hsun Hsieh, Director of the Center for Innovation and Incubation and an expert in Physical Therapy; Prof. Pei-Ying Chan, a specialist in Occupational Therapy; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Dieu, a doctoral researcher.

During the session, CGU professors introduced an overview of their international postgraduate programs, highlighting strengths in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Imaging, and Radiotherapy. At the same time, CGU expressed strong interest in expanding academic cooperation with DUMTP, particularly in developing interdisciplinary research projects, co-supervised international studies, and exchange opportunities for faculty and students. DUMTP, in turn, shared its vision of training high-quality healthcare professionals and emphasized its commitment to global integration in the coming years.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the introduction of attractive scholarships offered by CGU. The university currently provides a wide range of full and partial scholarships for international postgraduate students. Full scholarships cover tuition fees and monthly living allowances for outstanding applicants, while partial scholarships help reduce tuition and accommodation costs, making study abroad more accessible. Eligibility is based on strong academic performance, recognized English or Chinese language certificates, a clear research plan, and demonstrated academic potential.

In addition to degree programs, CGU also offers short-term exchange opportunities for DUMTP students, such as summer courses and one- or two-semester exchanges in Nursing, Rehabilitation, Medical Laboratory Sciences, and Medical Imaging. Faculty members from DUMTP may also join international postgraduate research programs, seek international academic supervisors, and build connections with leading research centers in Taiwan. These opportunities provide both students and lecturers with valuable access to an advanced academic environment, greater professional development, and rich cultural experiences.

The meeting opened new doors for future collaboration, not only in scholarships and international study opportunities for students but also in fostering long-term academic partnerships between DUMTP and CGU. The event clearly reflects DUMTP’s strategic direction: improving training quality, deepening international integration, and strengthening its position within the regional and global network of medical education institutions.
