On the morning of June 29, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, in coordination with Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team No. 1 of Da Nang City Police Department, conducted the 2025 fire prevention and rescue drill on campus.
The drill was overseen by Dr. Nguyen Minh Son – Vice Rector and Head of the University’s Fire Prevention and Rescue Steering Committee – and involved the participation of nearly 100 staff and employees. Captain Tran Phuoc Hung – Deputy Head of Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team No. 1 – delivered a safety briefing and directly led the on-site drill.
The simulated scenario involved an electrical short circuit causing a fire in a 60-square-meter classroom. Flammable materials such as books, paper, and electronic devices accelerated the fire's spread, with thick smoke quickly covering the area. The University’s on-site response team coordinated with professional firefighters to implement the firefighting plan, rescue trapped individuals, and manage the emergency as outlined in the response protocol.
The drill was carried out seriously and in accordance with the established plan. It contributed to enhancing the University’s capacity to respond to fire and explosion incidents, improve inter-agency coordination, and raise awareness of fire prevention and safety among all staff members.
