21-06-2025

On the afternoon of June 19, 2025, the Emulation Cluster of Universities in Da Nang City organized a seminar titled “Shaping Higher Education in the Digital Era”, hosted at Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, which currently serves as the Cluster’s lead institution. The seminar welcomed the participation of university leaders, administrators, faculty members, and experts in digital transformation and educational technology.

Delivering the opening remarks, Dr. Dang Van Thoi – Vice Rector of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy and Head of the University Emulation Cluster – emphasized:
“Digital transformation in education is no longer a trend but an inevitable requirement. Universities must comprehensively reform—from governance and teaching methods to student management and outcome assessment. The application of technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), will bring about breakthroughs in training quality and efficiency.”

He also noted that while AI presents significant advantages, its application in higher education must be approached with caution regarding ethical and legal considerations, as regulatory frameworks have yet to fully catch up with technological advancements.

The seminar served as an open forum for universities to share experiences, explore solutions, and discuss leading educational trends in the context of deepening digital transformation. Three core topics were presented and explored:

  • Unlocking the potential of artificial intelligence in education;
  • Innovating teaching methods through blended learning models;
  • Applying AI in teaching activities and scientific research.

Following each presentation, delegates actively engaged in discussions, highlighting both opportunities and challenges of digital transformation in education—from policy and management to pedagogy and practical implementation.

The seminar was not only a platform for knowledge exchange among higher education institutions, but also a meaningful effort to promote a culture of innovation, creativity, and global integration in education. Amid the education sector’s strong push toward digitalization, the event played a timely role in raising awareness, encouraging the use of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence in teaching and academic management. It also offered an opportunity for universities to propose concrete solutions to enhance training quality and meet the dynamic demands of society and the labor market in the digital age.

Moreover, the seminar opened new avenues for collaboration and connection among universities within the Emulation Cluster. It reaffirmed the shared commitment to making higher education institutions in Da Nang pioneers in digital transformation, in alignment with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, issued by the Politburo on promoting science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
