On the afternoon of August 11, 2025, the Emulation Bloc of Universities in Da Nang City held its 2024–2025 year-end review and 2025–2026 planning conference at Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy. The event was attended by Mr. Vo Nguyen Huan – Head of the City’s Emulation and Commendation Board, along with leaders from member universities. The conference was co-chaired by Dr. Dang Van Thoi – Vice Rector of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy and Head of the Emulation Bloc, and Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu – Vice Rector of the University of Education, University of Da Nang and Deputy Head of the Bloc.

Reports presented at the event showed that in the 2024–2025 academic year, the bloc achieved remarkable results in training, research, community service, and emulation-commendation activities. The bloc maintained an enrollment scale of nearly 119,000 learners, including over 112,000 full-time undergraduates, with admissions reaching 84.2% of the target. Training quality continued to improve through the adoption of international accreditation standards such as ISO 9001:2015 and AUN-QA, alongside political, ethical, and soft skills education.
In scientific research, member universities published over 1,600 works, including nearly 1,500 ISI/Scopus-indexed articles; organized 89 thematic conferences; won 33 ministerial and national-level science and technology awards; and earned 131 student research awards. Community service activities included medical internships, blood donation drives, disaster relief, and support for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. Several community-linked startup models were also effectively implemented.
The bloc set key priorities for the 2025–2026 academic year in line with the directives of the Ministry of Education and Training, relevant ministries, and the city’s education sector, focusing on science-technology development, innovation, and digital transformation; improving training quality to meet labor market demands; promoting applied research for smart city, marine economy, and renewable energy development; and enhancing social responsibility and emulation-commendation practices.

The bloc proposed that the City People’s Committee consider adding universities formerly under Quang Nam province (now under Da Nang) to strengthen collaboration in training, research, and community service.
In his address, Mr. Vo Nguyen Huan commended the bloc’s achievements and outlined key directions to help member institutions sustain success and enhance quality in both professional activities and emulation-commendation work.

At the event, the organizers honored and recommended the City People’s Committee Award Flag for two universities: the University of Economics and the University of Architecture; and the Certificate of Merit for Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy and the University of Education, University of Da Nang. The bloc also elected the University of Education, University of Da Nang as Head of the Bloc, and Dong A University as Deputy Head for the 2025–2026 academic year.
