1. Introduction:

The Ethics Council in Biomedical Research of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy was officially established on September 29^th, 2023 according to Decision No. 548/QD-DHKTYDDN.

The Office of Science - Technology Management and International Cooperation of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy is the standing office of the Ethics Council.

2. Functions & Duties:

The Ethics Council in Biomedical Research has the function of advising the Rector of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy to consider and evaluate the ethical and scientific aspects of related biomedical research to humans as the basis for approval, implementation and acceptance of biomedical research.

The duties of the Ethics Council include:

• Appraising ethical and scientific aspects of research protocols related to humans.
• Participating in developing and approving the University's regulations on organization and operation of biomedical research.
• Carrying out prescribed tasks for research presided over by establishments with Ethics Councils.
• Being responsible for consulting and their consulting opinions before the head of the organization establishing the Ethics Council.
