HI is an independent international aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. 

In close collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Vietnam National Rehabilitation Association (VINAREHA), and medical universities as well as institutes, HI has been working in Vietnam for 25 years mostly in activities related to rehabilitation services at large, from developing training curriculums and manuals related to Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR), Spinal Cord Injury management, cost recovery implementation, database collection systems, leprosy management and planning of services, and a wide range of patient information materials for caregivers and community stakeholders to training and coaching of professionals, set up of services and follow up of patients, including equity funding. HI has also established the partnership with DOHs to implement a model of services from preconception care, early detection of birth defects and early intervention.

DUMTP and HI have decided, together with other stake holders, to become involved in the implementation of the project "Advancing Medical Care and Rehabilitation Education".
