The Department of Rehabilitation, formerly known as the Department of Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation, was established at the Central Technical Secondary Medical School II in September 1980 with only two faculty members. It is one of the departments of the first three long-standing institutions in Vietnam to provide training in the field of Health Sciences under the Ministry of Health. Throughout subsequent stages, the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences has maintained its organizational structure within the institution as the school underwent name changes over the years:
- Central Technical Secondary Medical School II – Ministry of Health, from 1997 - Department of Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation
- College of Medical Engineering II – Ministry of Health, from 2006 - Department of Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation
- Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy - Ministry of Health, from 2013 - Department of Rehabilitation
- Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy - Ministry of Health, from 2024 - Faculty of Rehabilitation
