PROGRAM - BACHELOR OF REHABILITATION TECHNIQUES
Program educational objectives and program learning outcomes of the undergraduate training program in Rehabilitation techniques issued under Decision No. 274/QD-DHKTYDDN dated June 20th 2022 of the Rector of the DaNang University of Medical Technology – Pharmacy.
1. PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE (POb)
To educate students who become Rehabilitation techniques (Physiotherapy or Speech and Language Therapy) who exhibit ethics and thinking way of serving the community, be well-equipped with the fundamental science, basic medicine, professional knowledge, and skills, at proper grade, own active competencies and abilities such as independent and creative working, non-stop self-study, and be able to conduct scientific research to develop specified ability also general competencies of themselves and workmate, to dedicate the Vietnamese healthcare system.
2. PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES – PLO
Upon completion of the education program of Rehabilitation techniques of Danang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, graduates have the following competencies:
PLO1. Professional practice must adhere to the principles, orientations, and viewpoints of the Party, state policies, and laws, including general legal documents and specific ones in the field of healthcare.
PLO2. Apply fundamental scientific knowledge, basic medical science, basic industry knowledge, specialized knowledge, computer skills, and foreign languages as the foundation for learning, practicing, and researching topics in the field of Rehabilitation.
PLO3. Practice in the field of Rehabilitation Medicine according to legal regulations, maintain professional ethics standards, ensure confidentiality, and understand the scope of professional limitations when referring patients to other colleagues when unable to provide treatment.
PLO4. Demonstrate respect for cultural differences; have the ability to listen empathetically to patients; collaborate with other healthcare professionals in patient management.
PLO5. Communicate effectively orally and in writing to share accurate information with individuals.
PLO6. Conduct self-assessment, evidence-based practice, and take responsibility for learning direction, receive feedback to improve practice effectiveness. Participate in scientific research in Rehabilitation areas to apply research results in practice. Participate in knowledge sharing with colleagues to facilitate colleagues in achieving the best practice standards.
PLO7. Ability to self-manage to ensure health for professional practice and support colleagues in necessary situations to protect the safety and health of patients. Ability to organize work reasonably based on available resources to ensure safety and efficiency for patients.
PLO8. Ability to collaborate with professional associations nationally and regionally to promote the profession and emerging professional areas; strictly adhere to policies on health, safety, and other regulations of the organization.
PHYSIOTHERAPY
PLO9. Ability to assess, analyze, intervene in motor function-related conditions, set goals, re-evaluate based on clinical theory and best available evidence. Apply educational knowledge to patients, caregivers, and communities to achieve optimal independence.
PLO10. Ability to implement patient-centered management methods to enhance patient participation and optimize quality of life. Ability to collaborate across disciplines using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework in various environments.
SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY
PLO9. Demonstrate the ability to apply Vietnamese language and cultural standards in assessing, re-evaluating, analyzing, intervening in communication-related functions - language - speech - hearing and swallowing, setting goals, based on clinical theory and the best available evidence. Apply educational knowledge to patients, caregivers, and communities to achieve their goals.
PLO10. Implement patient-centered management methods to enhance patient participation and optimize quality of life. Collaborate across disciplines using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework in various environments. Make decisions for the best interests of patients, prioritizing patient needs over those of healthcare providers.
