Functions and Duties

The Faculty of Foundation Studies belonging to the Danang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy is under the direction of the Rector. The Faculty was established on April 1st, 2014. Its structure currently consists of the Board of Deans and two subordinate departments.

The Faculty is responsible for assisting the Dean in developing the faculty's training strategy; managing and conducting the professional activities of the subordinate departments, such as:

Giving lectures on general and fundamental knowledge for all majors of the university;

Doing research and mentoring in the fields of probability and statistics, physics & biophysics, chemistry, biology & genetics, foreign languages, computer science & medical statistics, political theory, general law, and physical education.

The faculty has the following specific tasks:

Building up curriculum, lecture plans, organizing and implementing educational activities in the training program. Consulting the Rector to supplement and update detailed syllabus, textbooks, question banks, learning outcomes, materials, and lecturing facilities;

Organizing scientific research and technology activities: carrying out scientific research projects at all levels, nurturing talented students, participating in developing the scale of enrollment and training;

Organizing the compilation and review of textbooks, reference materials;

Developing plans and organizing the implementation of education in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle for both students and the faculty members; organizing training programs for professional development to meet training demands;

Efficiently managing and using the assets, equipment, and materials provided or received from various sources in accordance with the general regulations of the State and specific guidelines of the institution;

Collaborating and fostering national and international relationships to enhance lecturing and research competences for the faculty and students;

Carrying out administrative tasks: managing grades and performing administrative duties related to record-keeping and filing in compliance with correct regulations;

Periodically conducting evaluations and classifications of faculty members within the department regarding their compliance awareness, professional competence, and appropriate job assignments to achieve high efficiency in meeting the requirements for teaching and scientific research;

Proposing to the dean the recruitment of new faculty members or the termination of contracts for faculty members who do not meet the requirements for expertise or demonstrate poor compliance with regulations and policies;

Coordinating with other faculties, departmental offices and other student organizations within the university to effectively carry out the functions and responsibilities of the faculty;

Carrying out the reporting requirements as stipulated by the dean;

Carrying out other tasks assigned by the University.
