FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

1. FUNCTION

The office of Science – Technology and International Cooperation plays the advisory role to Rector in the field of Science and Technology, International Cooperation, research collaboration support, Biomedical technology transfer in order to meet the needs of technology development and innovation in university, community and partners; support the undergraduate and post graduate training process as well as develop the expertise in the field of Biomedicine.

2. DUTIES

2.1. Main duties

2.1.1. Science and Technology

a) Developing the university’s regulations on scientific and technological activities in accordance with the legal documents of government and relevant ministries. Managing the implementation of regulations and unified the scientific research regimes throughout the university; collaborating with other functional offices to address the issues relating to scientific and technological activities.

b) Synthesizing, managing and evaluating the implementation of the university’s scientific and technological plans. Proposing the adjustments and additions to contents, collaborating forms to Rector to align with the current situation.

c) Providing advises to Rector on the activities related to Science and Technology, Science – Education in university. Monitoring and supervising the process of implementation, evaluating the results, reviewing the effectiveness of scientific research conducted in university; supporting intellectual property-related tasks.

d) Advising, organizing, and implementing the Ethics Committee in Biomedical Research in university.

e) Organizing conferences, workshops in Science and Technology annually, seminars, regular or irregular Science and Technology information, in order to provide new scientific and technological information in the field of Medicine – Pharmacy.

g) Organizing the compilation, edition of science and technology publications and information of university.

h) Statistics and reporting on Science and Technology as requested of competent authorities.

2.1.2. International Cooperation

a) Advising on the direction and plans for international cooperation activities in university.

b) Implementing activities related to working with foreign countries, international organizations.

c) Conducting review, synthesis and evaluation of the results of signed cooperation activities. Receiving, processing and archiving documents related to foreign affairs; as well as documents from foreign individuals/ organizations under th resee direction of Rector.

d) Advising on establishing the procedures and protocols for international cooperation activities based on Ministry of Health’s regulations, and government’s regulations on diplomatic protocols. Ensuring working procedures for international individuals and delegations in accordance with government’s regulations.

e) Advising on establishing the regulations for receiving international researchers, lecturers and students to conduct research, work and study at university.

f) Statistics and reports on international cooperation activities as requested of competent authorities.

g) Advising on implementing management of incoming delegations, official passport procedures, managing within the jurisdiction of the university related to foreign elements.

2.1.3. Biomedical Research

a) Advising on collaborative research and technology transfer in the field of Biomedicine with national and international individuals/ organizations (excluding funding outside the university or scientific and technological contracts commissioned by the University.

b) Promoting research collaboration, biomedical technology transfer for projects and initiatives funded from sources external to university’s budget.

c) Advising on establishment and development of scientific and technological capabilities in the field of biomedicine in university.

d) Providing training and enhancing research capabilities for staff, workers, lecturers through collaborative projects with partners.

e) Advising on oriental development and strategic plan of regions, enterprises and society.

2.1.4. Biomedical Technology Transfer

a) Applying biomedical technology transfer in public healthcare.

b) Supporting the implementation of research, application and biomedical technology transfer.

c) Providing support and consultation to address scientific and technological issues and other activities as per the need of partners in the field of medicine – pharmacy.
